10 – 12 July 2016 Perth, Western Australia
New Zealand Astrobiology Initiative is pleased to announce the next Astrobiology Australasia Meeting to be held from 10 to 12 of July 2016 in Perth, Western Australia.
The meeting is organised by the Australian Centre for Astrobiology, CSIRO and Curtin University.
This meeting will focus on the origin and evolution of life in the Universe, and space exploration. A call for abstracts will be issued shortly. The meeting will consist of both Oral and Poster presentations.
Field Trips –Expressions of interest
EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST are currently taken for the following Field Trips:
- A 2-day field trip to Shark Bay under the guidance of Professor Lindsay Collins.
- A 5-day field trip to the Pibara Craton to admire the earliest convincing evidence of life on Earth, led by Professor Martin Van Kranendonk.

The participation of early career and postgraduate researchers is positively encouraged.
There will be an icebreaker on the night of Sunday 10th of July, and the formal scientific program will be on Monday and Tuesday, ending in time for flights home on Tuesday evening.
